Period 2 Bill Brandt photos

                                                                          bill brandt
my group and i choose bill Brandt because he takes good photos and his photos are dramatic and diverse. he took pictures during and after world war 2 and he capture what was going on. that made him very famous. he liked to take nude pictures in addition to portraiture. his dramatic compositions, stark lighting and shadows made him more popular with magazines. after the war Brandt moved, he visited britain to document the country's most beautiful landscapes and he began to explore the female nude more. he took nudes for nearly 3 decades. "Bill Brandt's work was the subject of a major retrospective at the museum of modern art in London." and since his death his work got more famous. my group was inspired by bill brandt by the way he takes the pictures and how he captures the beauty of the nude girls. he takes pictures of hands and he makes them look good like the hands are modeling too but there just the way they are or what they doing makes the picture better.

artistic review - photographer's website

photographer's website
my teacher has a very interesting blog and it looks like its about culture and how people come together and get along well together. in his pictures you can really see how well people dress and get ready to go places or thats how they really dress like and its in the culture they are from. they all seem so artistic about how they look in the pictures. theres a picture of a guy thats preparing to sing and play the guitar. theres another were it looks like a father and son are hugging. and were to kids are dress so culture like. and the other is a girl getting ready for her big day.

I think that my teacher was going for a love, together, family look for his blog. because thats what i see and you can see a big story in there faces of how he took the picture. the picture is just telling like the moments of a story but behind the picture theres a bigger story that is told. my teacher is a very good photographer. he knows how to take fast and nice pictures and i like how he teach because he knows what he talking about and you can learn lots of things and so fast too.

the picture i most like is the one with the two kids. you can see its a school but they have different culture than the other kids there in the school. one of the kids looks like he might be mexican because of how he dress and the other kid is dress with what it looks like a dress and she has her hair back. and you can also see that one kid is lighter than the other and how you took this picture it makes there skin color look some what the same. i really like this picture i wouldn't change nothing about it.

cropping for better composition - advanced photo

before:

after:

I cropped this picture this way because the picture is focus on the bubbles not on the kids or the grass that it had lots in the original picture and our composition is fill in the frame so the bubbles are big but when you zoom out they look small and you use the surroundings to fill in the frame and make it better.

fill in the frame

fill in the frame
i would take pictures of plants and other things than a picture of someones face.
fill in the frame is when your schooting a large-scale picture and it can be hard to know how big your  subject should be in the frame. so that makes your subject that you were gonna take smaller and with all the other things around it you fill in the space that it had. thats why we choose fill in the frame because you take one thing and you zoom out and take a picture of a larger thing and ot makes what ever you were taking smaller.

the history of the photoboth

the most significance for me about the photoboth in paris. was how people was using the photos like police men to take pictures of criminals. and how people would take pictures of there friends and they like using all the kinds of affects it had. it made women strip and take pictures like that. they also dance in the photoboth. also the photoboth collected all the pictures and it show how it change the life of pictures and all the histury.

lights

when you see people standing next to the light, you can see the light been reflected on there face and on there hair and on what kind of kind of skin color they have. if they are light skin color the light reflect on you more and you seem more light. and if you are a darker color the light don't really reflect. and it depends on what kind of color clothes your wearing too. if you wearing black the black color will suck all the light in and if you wear bright colors the light shines.
